Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and functional checks on wind turbine components (gearboxes, generators, blades, hydraulic systems, electrical systems).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough safety checks and adhere strictly to all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other site-specific safety regulations.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately and promptly using digital systems.
- Participate in emergency call-outs and provide rapid response to ensure minimal downtime of turbines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, site managers, and control center personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices within the team.
Required Skills
- Completed vocational training (e.g., electronics technician, industrial mechanic, mechatronics technician) or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or similar heavy industrial maintenance role.
- Profound knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems relevant to wind turbines.
- Valid GWO (Global Wind Organisation) certifications (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival if applicable).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent physical condition, capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
- High safety awareness and adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher) and good English communication skills.
- Valid driver's license (Class B).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific turbine manufacturers (e.g., Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, Enercon, Nordex).
- Further specialized certifications (e.g., high voltage authorization).
- Experience with SCADA systems for remote monitoring and diagnostics.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluency in additional languages.
