Job Description

Are you an experienced and meticulous publishing professional with a passion for bringing high-quality content to readers? York Publishing Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated and proactive Work from Home Publication Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal remote role offers the opportunity to oversee the entire lifecycle of various publications, from initial manuscript submission through to final production and distribution. You will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards of editorial integrity, project efficiency, and author satisfaction. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects concurrently, coordinating with authors, editors, designers, printers, and marketing teams to ensure timely and successful publication launches. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end publication process for multiple titles, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for authors, providing guidance and support throughout the publishing journey.
  • Coordinate and oversee editorial, design, proofreading, and production stages, liaising with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, monitoring progress and proactively addressing potential delays or issues.
  • Ensure all publications meet the company's rigorous quality standards for content, design, and accessibility.
  • Review manuscripts for adherence to style guides, editorial consistency, and overall quality.
  • Manage publication budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective production methods.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop promotional strategies for new releases.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in publishing.
  • Utilize project management software and communication tools effectively for remote collaboration.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a publication management or senior editorial role.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English grammar and style.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Monday.com).
  • Strong understanding of the publishing workflow, from manuscript to print/digital distribution.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Publishing, or a related field.
  • Experience with academic, non-fiction, or educational publishing.
  • Familiarity with publishing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress).
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for digital content.
  • Experience in managing remote teams or collaborating extensively in a remote setting.
