Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of workshop technicians and staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee daily workshop operations, including job assignments, workflow management, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all projects are executed according to specifications, quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety regulations and compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor inventory levels for tools, materials, and spare parts, initiating procurement when necessary.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback and training opportunities for team members.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare reports on workshop performance, budget adherence, and operational metrics for senior management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in workshop management or a similar supervisory role.
  • Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating staff.
  • Proficiency in operational planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control standards and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English (German proficiency is a strong plus).
  • Proficiency with workshop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • German language proficiency (B2 level or higher).
