Job Description

We are actively seeking a passionate, certified, and experienced Yoga Instructor to join a premier wellness studio located in the serene community of Windermere, Edmonton. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead engaging, safe, and effective yoga classes for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
  • Instruct various yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Power Yoga, adapting to client demand and studio needs.
  • Demonstrate and cue poses clearly, offering modifications and advancements to accommodate diverse student capabilities and needs.
  • Provide hands-on adjustments (with consent) to improve alignment and deepen students' understanding of postures.
  • Educate students on yoga philosophy, breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting studio space before and after classes.
  • Build positive relationships with students, providing personalized attention and fostering a sense of community.
  • Participate in studio events, workshops, and marketing initiatives as required.
  • Stay current with industry trends, continuing education, and best practices in yoga instruction.
  • Adhere to all studio policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) certification from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years (24 months) of demonstrated experience teaching group yoga classes.
  • Proficiency in teaching multiple yoga styles.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and injury prevention as it relates to yoga.
  • Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and motivational atmosphere.
  • Exceptional class management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 500-hour YTT certification or higher.
  • Specialized certifications in areas such as Prenatal Yoga, Children's Yoga, or Yoga Therapy.
  • Experience with online/virtual class instruction platforms.
  • Background in fitness, wellness, or a related health field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and skill levels.
  • Additional language proficiency is a plus.
