Job Description
The Youth Mentor – Entry Level at Career.zycto plays a pivotal role in supporting and guiding young individuals in the Exhibition Park, Guelph area. Key Responsibilities
- Provide positive mentorship and act as a role model for youth aged 8-18.
- Assist in planning and facilitating engaging educational, recreational, and life skills activities.
- Support youth with homework, academic goals, and personal development challenges.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all program participants.
- Observe and report on youth progress, challenges, and successes to senior staff.
- Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and activity participation.
- Communicate effectively with youth, parents/guardians, and team members.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including child protection guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (some post-secondary education in social work, child and youth care, education, or a related field is a strong asset).
- Previous volunteer or paid experience working with children or youth.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of community resources in Guelph for youth and families.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
