Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of youth mentors, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Oversee daily program operations and ensure adherence to best practices, organizational policies, and safeguarding guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging mentorship activities and workshops tailored to diverse youth needs.
- Provide direct mentorship and support to youth participants, fostering their personal growth, resilience, and skill development.
- Conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews for mentors.
- Manage program resources, including materials and allocated budgets, effectively and responsibly.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through data collection and feedback, making data-driven improvements.
- Act as a primary point of contact for parents, guardians, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants and staff.
- Address conflicts and behavioral issues among youth or mentors with sensitivity, professionalism, and appropriate intervention.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in youth work, social services, or a related field (minimum 3 years).
- Demonstrable leadership and supervisory experience, ideally within a youth-focused setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational, time management, and program management abilities.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and build genuine rapport with young people and staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar productivity software.
- Possession of an Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Youth Work, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Experience with curriculum development and workshop facilitation for youth programs.
- Certification in First Aid and/or Mental Health First Aid.
- Familiarity with the Bristol youth community and local support resources.
