Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of clothing repairs including mending tears, replacing zippers, re-attaching buttons, patching, and darning.
- Execute garment alterations such as hemming, taking in/letting out seams, resizing, and adjusting sleeves for a perfect fit.
- Consult with customers to understand their specific needs and preferences, offering expert advice and solutions for their garments.
- Measure and mark garments accurately to ensure precise alterations and repairs.
- Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Inspect finished products to ensure high-quality standards are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Manage workflow efficiently to meet deadlines and prioritize urgent repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Stay updated on new tailoring techniques, fabrics, and fashion trends.
- Assist with inventory management of sewing supplies and materials.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in professional tailoring and garment repair.
- Expertise in operating various types of sewing machines (industrial and domestic).
- Strong knowledge of different fabric types, garment construction, and repair techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in stitching.
