Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and customer-centric Airline Ticketing Officer & Reservation Desk professional to join a leading travel services provider in Zimmerman, Nairobi. This pivotal role involves managing flight reservations, issuing tickets, and ensuring a seamless booking experience for clients. You will be the frontline representative, responsible for accurate information dissemination, efficient problem-solving, and providing exceptional service that fosters trust and loyalty. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and a comprehensive understanding of airline rules and regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Handle flight reservations, rebooking, and cancellations efficiently using GDS platforms (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo, etc.).
  • Issue and reissue airline tickets accurately, adhering strictly to airline policies and IATA regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on flight schedules, fares, baggage allowances, visa requirements, and travel insurance.
  • Manage client inquiries and resolve travel-related issues with professionalism and a problem-solving approach.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of airline products, services, and industry changes.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.
  • Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales and reservation reports.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one major Global Distribution System (GDS) like Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
  • Proven experience in airline ticketing, reservations, and customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Good geographical knowledge and understanding of international travel regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IATA certification or equivalent travel industry qualification.
  • Knowledge of an additional language (e.g., Swahili, French) is a plus.
  • Experience working in a busy travel agency or airline environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and office productivity tools.
