Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch and delivery schedules for a fleet of vehicles, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Manage warehouse inventory, including receiving, storage, picking, and packing, ensuring accuracy and optimal space utilization.
- Utilize logistics software and systems to track shipments, update status, and generate comprehensive reports.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve any logistics-related issues or delays.
- Oversee the proper documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliation to minimize discrepancies and losses.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices within the warehouse and during delivery operations.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and service quality.
- Train and supervise junior warehouse staff and delivery personnel as needed, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports on logistics operations to management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator, Warehouse Supervisor, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Valid general driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Project Management (e.g., CPL, CSCP, PMP).
- Experience with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Knowledge of local Jamaican transport regulations and geographical routes.
- Forklift operator certification.
