Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls, for alerts and anomalous activities.
- Respond to security incidents promptly, conducting initial analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, recommending and implementing remediation strategies.
- Administer and maintain security tools and technologies, ensuring their optimal performance and configuration.
- Enforce security policies and procedures across client environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct security awareness training for clients and internal staff, promoting best practices.
- Manage user access controls and identity management systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, incidents, and procedures.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Collaborate with IT support and network teams to implement security controls and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in the planning and execution of security audits and risk assessments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an IT Security Administrator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network security principles.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and vulnerability scanners.
- Experience with firewall configuration and management (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
- Familiarity with operating system security (Windows Server, Linux).
- Knowledge of common attack vectors and mitigation techniques.
- Understanding of information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a home-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CySA+.
- Experience with cloud security platforms (Azure Security, AWS Security).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
