Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives. This pivotal role is perfect for an experienced L&D leader who thrives on building strategic learning frameworks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving measurable impact on organizational performance. As a Director, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive learning programs that align with our strategic objectives and address critical skill gaps across various client organizations.

This involves extensive collaboration with senior leadership, HR partners, and department heads to understand business needs and translate them into effective learning solutions. From leadership development and executive coaching to technical skills training and onboarding programs, your expertise will shape the future of talent within our ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with organizational goals and future workforce needs.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, onboarding, and soft skills workshops.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and HR business partners to identify talent development needs, skill gaps, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Implement and manage learning technologies (LMS, e-learning platforms) to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of training initiatives.
  • Establish metrics and evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness and impact of L&D programs, reporting on key outcomes and ROI.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Oversee the L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing program value.
  • Mentor and develop a team of L&D professionals, fostering their growth and expertise.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and talent development trends to ensure cutting-edge program offerings.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior Learning & Development leadership role, preferably as a Director or Head of L&D.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate large-scale, impactful learning strategies and programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and talent management best practices.
  • Experience with various learning technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strategic thinking with a proven track record of aligning L&D initiatives with business objectives.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Certification in coaching, psychometric assessment, or instructional design (e.g., ATD, CIPD).
  • Experience working in a multi-industry or consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with the specific cultural and economic context of Zimbabwe and Southern Africa.
  • Proficiency in data analytics for L&D program evaluation and reporting.
