Job Description
We are seeking an visionary and results-driven Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives in Marondera, Mashonaland East Province. As CTO, you will be a pivotal member of our executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s technology roadmap, fostering innovation, and ensuring the robust and secure operation of all IT systems. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in technology leadership, particularly within the financial services or insurance sector, who can drive impactful change and deliver cutting-edge solutions that support our business objectives. You will be instrumental in identifying new technologies, optimizing existing infrastructure, and building high-performing technology teams to propel Fidelity Life Assurance into a new era of digital prowess. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals and digital transformation agenda.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of all technology systems, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
- Manage the company's IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms, data centers, networks, and enterprise applications.
- Drive digital innovation across the organization, exploring and implementing emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and blockchain to enhance product offerings and operational processes.
- Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols and data privacy measures to protect company and customer information.
- Manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other C-level executives to integrate technology solutions seamlessly into all business functions.
- Evaluate and select third-party vendors and technology partners, managing relationships to ensure optimal performance and value.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats, positioning Fidelity Life Assurance at the forefront of technological advancements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements pertaining to technology and data management within the financial services sector.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role (CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar) for at least 10 years.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic technology planning, execution, and digital transformation.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, software development methodologies, and IT infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in cybersecurity best practices, data protection, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, local financial regulations).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern data analytics tools.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire diverse teams.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large technology budgets.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical or business field.
- PMP, ITIL, CISSP, or other relevant professional certifications.
- Experience specifically within the financial services or insurance technology sector.
- Familiarity with agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
