As an Adventure Tour Guide, you will be the face of Mautourco, responsible for leading groups of international and local tourists on engaging, safe, and unforgettable adventures. Your role goes beyond mere navigation; you will be an ambassador for Mauritius, sharing compelling narratives, fascinating facts about local flora and fauna, historical anecdotes, and cultural insights that bring each tour to life. You will guide guests through diverse terrains, from lush forests and picturesque coastal paths to historical sites and charming local villages, adapting to different group dynamics and ensuring every participant has a personalized and enriching experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead various adventure tours (e.g., hiking, cultural excursions, nature walks) across Mauritius, ensuring a captivating and educational experience.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants, strictly adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.
- Share comprehensive knowledge about Mauritius's history, culture, biodiversity, geography, and local traditions in an engaging manner.
- Manage tour logistics efficiently, including scheduling, transportation coordination, and adherence to planned itineraries.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and needs promptly and courteously.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and possess the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Maintain all tour equipment in excellent condition and conduct pre-tour checks to ensure functionality and safety.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a tour guide or in a similar customer-facing role in tourism (min. 2 years).
- Excellent command of English and French, both spoken and written.
- In-depth knowledge of Mauritian history, culture, geography, and natural attractions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driving license (manual and automatic) with a clean record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physical fitness and stamina to lead active tours in various terrains and weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., German, Italian, Mandarin).
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Specialized knowledge or certifications in specific adventure activities (e.g., hiking, canyoning, snorkeling).
- Previous experience working with diverse international tourist groups.
- Degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, Environmental Science, or a related field.
