Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Mix and match colours, ensuring consistency and adherence to specifications.
- Inspect work to ensure high-quality finishes and address any imperfections.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and tape to prevent damage.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other tradespersons.
- Perform minor repairs and touch-ups as required during maintenance work.
- Safely use and maintain tools and equipment, including ladders and scaffolding.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painter in construction or maintenance.
- Proficiency in various painting techniques (brush, roller, spray).
- Thorough knowledge of paint preparation techniques and materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent colour perception and mixing abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to painting work.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting and Decorating.
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Experience with specialist coatings or decorative finishes.
- First Aid certification.
