Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Painter to join our roster for various construction finishing and maintenance projects across Birmingham and the surrounding West Midlands area. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces thoroughly for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Mix and match colours, ensuring consistency and adherence to specifications.
  • Inspect work to ensure high-quality finishes and address any imperfections.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and tape to prevent damage.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other tradespersons.
  • Perform minor repairs and touch-ups as required during maintenance work.
  • Safely use and maintain tools and equipment, including ladders and scaffolding.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Painter in construction or maintenance.
  • Proficiency in various painting techniques (brush, roller, spray).
  • Thorough knowledge of paint preparation techniques and materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent colour perception and mixing abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to painting work.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting and Decorating.
  • CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Experience with specialist coatings or decorative finishes.
  • First Aid certification.
