Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled, meticulous, and dedicated Full-Time CNC Operator to become an integral part of our dynamic team in Centenary, Mashonaland Central Province. This pivotal role encompasses the precise operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machines to execute a diverse range of tasks, including milling, turning, grinding, and drilling. The primary objective is to produce high-precision parts essential for agricultural machinery, general engineering components, and other vital equipment that underpins our operations and supports the backbone of Zimbabwe’s economy. The successful candidate will be proficient in setting up machines, accurately loading materials, diligently monitoring machine operations, ensuring rigorous quality control throughout the production process, and performing essential routine maintenance to uphold operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various CNC machines (including lathes, mills, and grinders) to produce high-quality, precision parts strictly according to engineering specifications and tolerances.
- Accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CNC programs (G-code and M-code).
- Perform necessary machine adjustments, execute precise tool changes, and conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance and longevity.
- Efficiently load and unload raw materials and finished components into and from the CNC machines.
- Continuously monitor machine operations to detect any malfunctions, deviations from specifications, or potential issues, and make timely corrections as required.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts for defects and ensure strict compliance with all quality standards using a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Maintain accurate and detailed production records, logs, and complete all required documentation promptly.
- Adhere rigorously to all established safety protocols, company policies, and maintain a consistently clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, quality control, and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator, demonstrating proficiency with various machine types.
- Strong understanding and practical application of CNC programming principles (G-code, M-code).
- Exceptional ability to read and accurately interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of measurement tools and applying advanced techniques for stringent quality control.
- Competence in performing basic machine maintenance, troubleshooting common operational issues, and making minor repairs.
- Outstanding attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to producing work of the highest quality standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address manufacturing challenges efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a valued member of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Machining Technology, or a closely related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience with specific CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas).
- In-depth knowledge of various metalworking techniques, material properties, and their applications.
- Prior experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, particularly one producing agricultural or heavy machinery components.
