Key Responsibilities
- Execute bricklaying and block laying tasks according to blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Mix mortar and other building materials accurately, ensuring correct consistency and strength.
- Measure and cut bricks or blocks to required sizes and shapes using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units with precision, ensuring straightness, plumb, and level.
- Inspect work areas and completed tasks to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring proper care and storage of tools and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures on site.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in various bricklaying and block laying techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols.
- Competency in using a range of bricklaying tools and equipment (trowels, levels, hammers, saws).
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in Bricklaying, Masonry, or a related field.
- Experience with different types of masonry materials and construction methods.
- First Aid and CPR certification (advantageous).
