Key Responsibilities
- Develop, articulate, and execute a strategic, company-wide training and development plan that supports business goals and talent pipeline needs.
- Design, implement, and oversee a diverse portfolio of training programs, including onboarding, technical skills, leadership development, compliance, and soft skills.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of training professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring effective program delivery.
- Establish robust metrics and evaluation methodologies to assess the effectiveness and ROI of all training initiatives, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Manage the annual training budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Collaborate closely with departmental heads and senior management to identify specific training needs and integrate learning solutions into operational strategies.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, new learning technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure our training programs remain cutting-edge and compliant.
- Introduce and integrate innovative learning technologies (e.g., e-learning platforms, virtual reality, gamification) to enhance the learning experience and accessibility.
- Ensure all training content and delivery methods are inclusive, engaging, and culturally relevant to our diverse workforce.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in a senior learning & development or training leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement large-scale, strategic training programs.
- Exceptional instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning principles expertise.
- Strong leadership, team management, and talent development capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to measure training effectiveness and articulate ROI.
- Strategic planning, project management, and budget management expertise.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Training and Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD Certification).
- Experience specifically within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or manufacturing sector.
- Familiarity with Zimbabwean labor laws, educational frameworks, and local training providers.
- Experience with change management initiatives and organizational transformation.
