Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Training Officer to join our dynamic Employee Development team in Stockport. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across various departments.
  • Design, develop, and update engaging training modules, materials, and resources, including presentations, workbooks, and e-learning content.
  • Deliver a wide range of training programs, workshops, and coaching sessions, both in-person and virtually, ensuring high levels of participant engagement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making data-driven improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure training content aligns with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Manage training logistics, including scheduling, venue booking, and participant communication.
  • Maintain accurate training records and produce regular reports on training activities and outcomes.
  • Research and recommend new learning technologies and methodologies to enhance the employee development offering.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees by developing and delivering relevant introductory training.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a training, learning and development, or similar HR role.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering engaging training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to captivate and motivate learners.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in creating professional training materials using tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and e-learning platforms.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Learning & Development (e.g., CIPD Level 3 or higher in L&D).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration.
  • Familiarity with various assessment tools and techniques for evaluating training effectiveness.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring employees at different career stages.
