Job Description
We are actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Security to spearhead and manage all facets of security operations at the Caribbea Bay Resort. The successful candidate will be instrumental in conceptualizing, implementing, and rigorously overseeing comprehensive security strategies, robust policies, and meticulous procedures. The ultimate goal is to guarantee the utmost safety and security for our cherished guests, dedicated staff, valuable assets, and the entire property. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously review comprehensive security plans, policies, and procedures tailored for the resort environment.
- Lead, mentor, train, and manage the security team, including overseeing scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Manage and maintain all surveillance systems, access control mechanisms, and other critical security technologies, ensuring their optimal and continuous functionality.
- Conduct regular and thorough security audits, comprehensive risk assessments, and detailed vulnerability analyses to proactively identify and address potential threats.
- Investigate all security incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences with precision, preparing detailed reports and recommending effective corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary liaison with local law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and relevant governmental bodies as necessary.
- Design and implement robust emergency preparedness and response plans, encompassing protocols for fire safety, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
- Manage the departmental budget efficiently, ensuring prudent and effective allocation of all financial and material resources.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local and national security regulations, as well as prevailing industry best practices.
- Promote and embed a pervasive culture of safety and security among all resort staff through ongoing training initiatives and awareness programs.
- Implement measures to protect company assets from theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access or misuse.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in security management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and effective team management abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary security principles, protocols, and cutting-edge technologies.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly for risk assessment and critical incident management.
- Outstanding communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and professional report-writing skills.
- Proven ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure, especially during high-stress emergency situations.
- Proficiency in operating and managing modern security software and sophisticated surveillance systems.
- Sound understanding of legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to security operations within Zimbabwe.
- Unwavering high level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management, or a closely related field.
- Attainment of professional security certifications (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP)).
- Direct experience with security management in a large-scale resort, hotel, or complex hospitality establishment.
- In-depth knowledge of the local Kariba and broader Zimbabwean security landscape and relevant regulations.
- Fluency in additional local languages such as Shona or Ndebele.
