Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, masons, etc.) with various tasks as directed by site supervision.
- Prepare construction sites by meticulously cleaning, digging trenches, clearing debris, and setting up temporary structures like barricades and signage.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring safe handling, transportation, and proper storage on site.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under direct supervision, following all operational guidelines.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on site, including tidying work areas and disposing of waste properly.
- Perform general physical laboring tasks as required, including moving heavy objects, mixing concrete, and assisting with formwork setup and dismantling.
- Support the project team in ensuring work is completed efficiently, within timelines, and to required quality standards.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to site supervision immediately to prevent accidents.
- Actively participate in daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site meetings to stay informed and contribute to a safe working culture.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding manual labor for extended periods in various conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse weather conditions and challenging outdoor construction environments.
- Basic understanding and unwavering commitment to construction site safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions diligently.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Awareness of basic construction tools and their safe operation, with a willingness to learn more.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal or volunteer) in a construction, manufacturing, or similar physically demanding environment.
- A valid driver's license (Code 8/B or higher) would be an advantage for specific site-related duties.
- Completion of a basic safety course or relevant construction certifications (e.g., scaffolding, first aid).
- A High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
