As a Radio Producer, you will be at the heart of our daily programming, responsible for the end-to-end production of various radio shows, segments, and promotional content. This includes everything from conceptualization and script development to managing studio sessions, directing talent, and post-production editing. You’ll work closely with presenters, journalists, and technical teams to ensure seamless broadcast quality and adherence to editorial standards. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of local culture and current affairs, enabling them to produce content that is highly relevant and engaging to the Chinde community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and conceptualize new radio programs, segments, and features aligned with listener demographics and station goals.
  • Produce daily radio shows, including pre-production planning, scriptwriting, music selection, and sound effects integration.
  • Direct on-air talent, ensuring engaging performances and adherence to broadcast schedules and content guidelines.
  • Operate studio equipment for recording, mixing, and editing audio content to professional broadcast standards.
  • Manage content archives, track broadcast metrics, and provide reports on program performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create promotional spots and sponsored content.
  • Stay updated on current events, local news, and popular culture to ensure content relevance.
  • Ensure all produced content complies with broadcasting regulations and ethical standards.
  • Troubleshoot minor technical issues during live broadcasts or recording sessions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Radio Producer or similar role in broadcasting.
  • Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity).
  • Strong understanding of radio production techniques and broadcast workflows.
  • Excellent storytelling and scriptwriting abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially for directing talent.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and strong command of English.
  • Knowledge of local culture, music, and current affairs in Zambezia Province.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Broadcasting, Media Production, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience with live radio production and remote broadcasting setups.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and digital content integration for radio.
  • Ability to speak local languages common in Chinde (e.g., Sena, Chuabo).
