Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration for a remote workforce.
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and HR systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR programs, policies, and initiatives that support a positive remote work culture.
- Support HR compliance efforts, including provincial and federal labor laws and regulations specific to British Columbia and Canada.
- Prepare HR-related reports and analytics to support decision-making and identify trends.
- Collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment processes, ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
- Facilitate performance management processes and provide support for employee development initiatives.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance HR processes and employee experience.
- Assist with various administrative tasks to support the People Operations function as needed.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources or People Operations.
- Proven experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, policies, and employment law in Canada, particularly British Columbia.
- Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPHR designation or working towards certification.
- Experience with specific HRIS platforms such as Workday, BambooHR, or similar.
- Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices in a remote setting.
- Prior experience supporting a rapidly scaling organization.
