Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Officer with a strong focus on systems and network administration to join our dynamic Technology team in Vacoas-Phoenix. Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
- Monitor network performance (LAN/WAN), troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure optimal uptime and security of network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues to end-users.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical business data.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure IT systems are protected against vulnerabilities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, system processes, and IT assets.
- Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new IT hardware and software solutions.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security protocols, and data protection regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical IT incidents outside regular business hours when required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration (2012R2/2016/2019) and Active Directory management.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols).
- Experience with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Fortinet, or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, CompTIA Network+, Security+).
- Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools and processes.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) administration.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Prior experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
