As a Logistics Coordinator, you will act as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, and customers. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
- Manage inventory control systems, conduct regular stock audits, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Plan and schedule efficient delivery routes, considering factors such as cost, delivery times, and vehicle capacity.
- Liaise with transportation carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely and effective movement of goods.
- Monitor and track shipments from dispatch to delivery, proactively resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including invoices, manifests, and customs forms where applicable.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and relevant local and international shipping regulations.
- Utilize logistics software and systems to record, track, and analyze logistics data for performance improvement.
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, delivery performance, logistics costs, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance supply chain effectiveness.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff within the logistics and warehouse team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Logistics Coordinator, Logistics Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation logistics.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local shipping regulations and customs procedures (if applicable).
- Valid driver’s license (Jamaican) and ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain (e.g., APICS CSCP, CLTD).
- Experience with a specific ERP system like SAP or Oracle.
- Familiarity with cold chain logistics or perishable goods handling.
- Ability to speak multiple languages, including Jamaican Patois, is a plus.
