Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Robotics Technician to join our dynamic team in Filabusi, Matabeleland South Province. This pivotal role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of robotic systems and advanced automated machinery critical to our mining operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industrial robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensor technologies, and integrated control systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and commission industrial robotic systems and automated machinery.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on robotic equipment, control systems, and associated peripherals to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in automated systems, executing timely and effective repairs.
- Develop, update, and implement maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational best practices.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior technicians and operational staff on the use and maintenance of robotic systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades, modifications, and the integration of new technologies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance data.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, contributing to a culture of safety.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing system reliability, performance, and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industrial robotics programming and operation (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa)
- Expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) – programming, troubleshooting (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider)
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems (SCADA, HMI)
- Advanced electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills (circuits, sensors, actuators)
- Solid mechanical aptitude, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision alignment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications in robotics programming or industrial automation.
