Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a visionary Director of Learning & Development to join our dynamic team in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West Province. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our organizational culture of continuous growth and performance excellence. As our Director of L&D, you will be at the helm of designing, developing, and executing a holistic learning strategy that directly supports our strategic business objectives and enhances the capabilities of our diverse workforce.

You will be responsible for identifying critical skill gaps, forecasting future talent needs, and implementing innovative, scalable learning solutions. This includes everything from leadership development programs and technical training to onboarding initiatives and continuous professional development frameworks. We are looking for someone who can not only craft world-class content but also leverage cutting-edge learning technologies and methodologies to ensure maximum engagement and impact.

Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with senior leadership, department heads, and HR business partners to ensure that all L&D initiatives are aligned with business priorities and contribute directly to employee engagement, retention, and productivity. Managing external vendors and partnerships will also be a core part of your mandate, ensuring we bring best-in-class resources to our learning ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continually refine a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programs and interventions.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and future talent requirements across the organization.
  • Manage the overall L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Establish robust metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness and ROI of all learning initiatives.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of L&D professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and HR business partners to integrate L&D with broader HR and business strategies.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge sharing throughout the company.
  • Evaluate and implement leading-edge learning technologies, platforms, and methodologies.
  • Ensure all learning content and delivery methods comply with relevant industry standards and internal policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in strategic L&D planning and execution.
  • Expertise in curriculum design, instructional methodologies, and adult learning principles.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability in change management and organizational development.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications in adult learning, instructional design, or HR (e.g., CPTD, SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience working in a multi-industry or complex, matrixed organizational environment.
  • Familiarity with emerging L&D trends, such as AI in learning, microlearning, and personalized learning paths.
