Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Reporting Coordinator to join our dynamic finance team. As a Finance Reporting Coordinator, you will be instrumental in the timely and accurate preparation of various financial reports, analyses, and presentations. You will be responsible for consolidating financial data, ensuring adherence to accounting standards (IFRS/ASPE), and supporting internal and external audits. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and compile accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Perform detailed financial analysis to support management decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards (IFRS/ASPE) and internal financial policies.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances and providing explanations.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure data integrity.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and implement best practices.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across the organization.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in financial reporting or analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and financial modeling.
- Solid understanding of Canadian accounting standards (IFRS or ASPE).
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Experience in the food production or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Familiarity with financial reporting software and tools.
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid work model.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
