Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and dismantle lighting equipment and related gear according to event specifications and safety standards.
- Program and operate lighting consoles (e.g., GrandMA, Avolites, Chamsys) for various event types.
- Conduct pre-event checks and troubleshooting of all lighting systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Perform on-site adjustments and maintenance during live events to address any technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with sound technicians, video operators, and stage managers to achieve cohesive production outcomes.
- Assist in the design and planning phases of lighting setups, offering creative input and technical feasibility assessments.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, particularly concerning rigging, electrical work, and working at heights.
- Maintain inventory of lighting equipment, report damages, and ensure proper storage and care.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating various lighting consoles and control systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and power distribution for event lighting.
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots and technical drawings.
- Demonstrable experience with different types of lighting fixtures (LED, moving heads, conventional).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills under pressure.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluency in English (German language skills a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification in event technology or electrical engineering.
- Experience with CAD software for lighting design (e.g., Vectorworks Spotlight, Capture).
- Basic knowledge of video mapping and projection techniques.
- Previous experience working on a diverse range of live events (e.g., concerts, corporate, theatre).
- Familiarity with DMX, Art-Net, and other lighting control protocols.
