Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures aligned with UK regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and comprehensive risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance breaches.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, advising management on their potential impact.
  • Design and deliver effective compliance training and guidance programs to employees across all departments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies on compliance matters.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, incidents, and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare detailed and insightful reports on compliance performance for senior management and the board of directors.
  • Oversee data protection and privacy compliance, ensuring strict adherence to GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Support the legal team in contract review processes and regulatory filings to ensure legal and ethical soundness.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) as a Compliance Officer, preferably within professional services or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of the UK regulatory landscape, including FCA, GDPR, Companies Act, and other pertinent legislation.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable high level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professional judgment.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software, GRC tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., ICA Diploma in Compliance, CAMS, CCEP, CRISC).
