Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior IT Asset Analyst to join our vibrant team based in Marondera, Mashonaland East Province. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in managing the entire lifecycle of our IT assets, ensuring optimal utilization, cost-effectiveness, and compliance across our extensive operational footprint. As a Senior IT Asset Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT Asset Management (ITAM) strategies, policies, and procedures. Your expertise will directly contribute to minimizing financial risk, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making by providing accurate and actionable data on our hardware and software assets. You will lead efforts in inventory management, software license compliance, procurement support, and asset disposal, driving best practices and continuous improvement within our ITAM framework. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, processes, and procedures across hardware and software assets.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to disposal, including tracking, inventory, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Ensure software license compliance by conducting regular audits, reconciling usage against entitlements, and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with procurement and finance departments to optimize IT asset acquisition costs and ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date IT asset inventory database, including detailed information on hardware, software, licenses, and contracts.
  • Generate comprehensive reports on IT asset utilization, costs, compliance, and lifecycle status for management decision-making.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for IT asset optimization, cost reduction, and process improvements within the ITAM framework.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on IT asset-related matters, including licensing models and asset best practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) or a related IT finance/operations role.
  • Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency with ITAM tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Ivanti, BMC Helix).
  • Expertise in software licensing models for major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, hardware, and software technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager), or CHAMP (Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional).
  • Experience with cloud asset management (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with IT procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Experience working in the telecommunications industry.
