Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and renewal.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and best practices.
- Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and KPIs, initiating corrective actions where necessary.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, developing and implementing appropriate strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, operations) to align contract terms with business needs and objectives.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve favourable terms, cost savings, and value for money.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records, documentation, and a central contract repository.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual matters and interpretations to internal teams.
- Support the tender and procurement process, ensuring robust contractual agreements are in place for all engagements.
- Implement and manage contract change control processes efficiently and effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in contract management and procurement roles.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in contract drafting, review, and interpretation.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Solid understanding of legal principles relating to commercial contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or working towards one.
- Degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with e-procurement platforms and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software.
- Knowledge of specific industry regulations relevant to a professional services environment.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
