Job Description
We are seeking a diligent, dependable, and motivated Full-Time Factory Worker to join our growing production team at our facility in Bel Air Rivière Sèche, Flacq District. This critical role is fundamental to our daily operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and quality-controlled processing, packaging, and handling of our diverse range of food products. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor various production machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following standard operating procedures.
- Perform essential manual tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, stacking, and packaging food products according to specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on products at different stages of production, identifying and reporting any defects or deviations from standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area at all times, strictly adhering to all sanitation guidelines and company policies.
- Adhere rigorously to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations (HACCP principles) to ensure product integrity and employee well-being.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving raw materials and dispatching finished goods, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate proactively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet daily production targets and schedules.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, operational issues, or safety concerns immediately to supervisors for prompt resolution.
- Actively participate in mandatory training sessions and workshops as required to enhance skills, knowledge, and compliance with new procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive motions, lifting up to 25 kg, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and precision.
- Basic understanding and adherence to health and safety procedures within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong, positive work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as an integral part of a team.
- Good communication skills (verbal) in English and/or Mauritian Creole.
- Willingness to learn new processes, adapt to changing requirements, and operate different types of equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in a factory, production, or food processing environment is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) or other food safety standards.
- Forklift operator certification (though not strictly required, it is considered a significant advantage).
- Secondary school certificate (Form IV/SC or equivalent).
