Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and maintenance of geospatial data from various sources.
  • Perform data entry, digitization, and attribute population for GIS databases.
  • Conduct quality control checks on geospatial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Prepare, edit, and update maps, charts, and other visual products using GIS software.
  • Support senior technicians and analysts in spatial analysis tasks and report generation.
  • Utilize GPS equipment and other field instruments for data collection, as required.
  • Learn and apply relevant industry standards, best practices, and data specifications.
  • Maintain meticulous records of data sources, processes, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members on various projects, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance geospatial skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and principles.
  • Proficiency with at least one major GIS software package (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and processing.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
