Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and strategic Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central Province. As the Director of Learning & Development, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies that align with our company’s strategic objectives and values. This involves everything from leadership development and technical skills training to fostering soft skills and promoting career progression paths.

You will manage the full lifecycle of learning programs, from conception and content creation to delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement. This includes leveraging a blend of in-person workshops, e-learning modules, mentorship programs, and external partnerships to deliver impactful and engaging learning experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's business goals and culture.
  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across the organization.
  • Design, develop, and deliver innovative and engaging learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills, compliance training, and soft skills workshops.
  • Manage the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning technologies and platforms (LMS).
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all L&D initiatives, utilizing metrics and feedback to ensure continuous improvement and demonstrable ROI.
  • Partner with senior leadership and department heads to identify future talent needs and build robust succession planning initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.
  • Oversee and manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Mentor and develop a small team of L&D professionals (if applicable).

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing successful L&D strategies and programs.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and various delivery methods.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess training needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and report on key metrics.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in L&D (e.g., CPTD, ATD credentials).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or rapidly growing organizational environment.
  • Familiarity with talent management software and HR analytics platforms.
  • Experience specifically within the Zimbabwean or Southern African market context.
