Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a passionate, driven, and experienced Artist Manager to join our dedicated team in Moncton, New Brunswick. This pivotal role is perfect for an individual with a deep understanding of the music industry, a proven track record in talent development, and an unyielding commitment to fostering artist growth. As an Artist Manager, you will be the primary liaison and strategic partner for our roster of diverse musical talent, guiding their careers through critical stages of development, promotion, and business operations.

You will be responsible for crafting comprehensive career strategies, encompassing everything from recording and touring to branding and digital presence. This involves meticulous planning for album releases, coordinating promotional activities, securing performance opportunities, and negotiating various contracts including recording, publishing, and endorsement deals. A significant part of your role will involve market analysis, identifying trends, and positioning artists effectively within a competitive global landscape, while also maintaining a strong focus on the unique opportunities within the Canadian music ecosystem.

Beyond strategy, you will handle the day-to-day logistics and administrative tasks that ensure an artist’s career runs smoothly. This includes managing budgets, tour schedules, and ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations. You will act as a bridge between the artist and various stakeholders, including record labels, publishers, booking agents, publicists, and legal teams, advocating tirelessly for the artist’s best interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive career strategies for assigned artists, including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Manage day-to-day operations for artists, including scheduling, travel, budgeting, and administrative tasks.
  • Negotiate and oversee all contractual agreements, including recording, publishing, touring, and endorsement deals, in collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Liaise with record labels, booking agents, publicists, promoters, and other industry professionals to maximize artist opportunities.
  • Coordinate album releases, promotional campaigns, media appearances, and touring logistics.
  • Provide strategic guidance on branding, social media presence, and digital marketing efforts.
  • Monitor industry trends, market changes, and competitive landscape to inform artist strategies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for artists, offering guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Manage financial aspects of artist careers, including income, expenses, and royalty statements.
  • Ensure artists fulfill all contractual obligations and maintain a positive public image.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in artist management, music promotion, or a related field within the entertainment industry.
  • Strong understanding of the music industry ecosystem, including labels, publishers, booking, and promotion.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic career plans for artists.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and tour logistics.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with artists and industry partners.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Arts Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with artists from diverse genres and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of digital music distribution platforms and online marketing strategies.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian music funding landscape and grant applications.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to New Brunswick, Canada.
