Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our strategic efforts in talent cultivation and organizational effectiveness. This pivotal role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies that align with our company’s ambitious growth objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the organization. As the Director, you will be responsible for identifying critical skill gaps, developing innovative training programs, and leveraging cutting-edge methodologies to enhance employee capabilities, engagement, and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's strategic goals and talent management objectives.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative training programs, workshops, and e-learning modules covering leadership, technical skills, compliance, and soft skills.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across various departments and employee levels.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and return on investment for all programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives using key performance indicators (KPIs) and modify programs as needed to maximize impact.
  • Research, recommend, and implement modern learning technologies and platforms to enhance the learning experience and accessibility.
  • Mentor and develop a team of L&D professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Collaborate with HR, senior leadership, and departmental heads to integrate learning strategies into talent acquisition, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in learning and development.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior Learning & Development leadership role, preferably as a Director or Head of L&D.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement impactful L&D strategies and programs from conception to evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in leveraging data and analytics to drive decision-making and demonstrate program effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with talent management systems (LMS) and HRIS platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPLP, ATD, SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience working in a multinational or diverse organizational environment.
  • Strong network within the L&D community in Zimbabwe and internationally.
