Key Responsibilities
- Prepare reagents, media, and solutions accurately following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assist senior laboratory personnel with setting up and dismantling experimental apparatus and workstations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment by performing routine cleaning, basic calibration checks, and minor troubleshooting.
- Organize and manage laboratory supplies and chemical inventories, including tracking usage and assisting with ordering when necessary.
- Prepare and label biological and chemical samples for analysis, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and analytical procedures under direct supervision, adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately record experimental data, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks or digital systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations, waste disposal procedures, and quality control standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times, proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Assist with data entry, report generation, and other basic administrative tasks as required to support lab operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; a vocational qualification or degree in a scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences) is a strong advantage.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
