Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engaging tours across various terrains and cultural attractions in Mauritius.
- Provide accurate, insightful, and entertaining commentary on local history, culture, flora, and fauna.
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all tour participants throughout the entire excursion.
- Manage tour logistics efficiently, including adherence to schedules, coordinating transportation, and handling equipment.
- Be prepared to administer basic first aid and confidently manage emergency situations as they arise.
- Educate guests on responsible tourism practices and promote environmental conservation.
- Gather feedback from guests to continually enhance the quality and appeal of tour offerings.
- Maintain accurate records of tour activities, incidents, and guest interactions.
- Represent Career.zycto with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Tour Guide, preferably in Mauritius or a similar island destination.
- Exceptional communication, public speaking, and storytelling abilities in English and French.
- Strong leadership and group management skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- In-depth, verifiable knowledge of Mauritian geography, history, culture, ecology, and popular attractions.
- Valid Mauritian driving license (Class B or higher) with a clean record.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina, capable of navigating varied terrains (hiking, walking, water-based activities).
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Diploma or Degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages such as German, Mandarin, Italian, or Spanish.
- Specialized experience in specific adventure activities like hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, or cultural heritage interpretation.
- Familiarity with local Creole language and customs.
