Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Chimanimani, Manicaland Province. This pivotal role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning programs that empower our employees and clients to achieve their full potential. As the Director, you will craft a strategic L&D roadmap aligned with our business objectives, ensuring that all programs are effective, measurable, and scalable. You will collaborate closely with various departmental heads and external stakeholders to understand their unique development needs and translate them into impactful learning solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's overall business goals and talent objectives.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative learning programs, workshops, and resources across various formats (e.g., in-person, e-learning, blended learning).
  • Conduct thorough training needs analyses to identify skill gaps and development opportunities within the organization and for client engagements.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment for all learning initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing L&D team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, HR, and department heads to integrate L&D programs into broader talent management and performance strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all learning programs through data analytics, feedback mechanisms, and key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting on impact and recommending improvements.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and adult learning principles to continuously enhance our L&D offerings.
  • Foster a strong culture of continuous learning and professional development within Career.zycto and its partner organizations.
  • Oversee vendor relationships for external training programs, content development, and learning platforms.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in Learning & Development leadership roles, with a focus on strategy and program implementation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and curriculum development.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience building and developing L&D professionals.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives from conception to completion.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and various e-learning authoring tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to measure program effectiveness and inform decisions.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to talent development challenges.
  • Experience operating in an emerging market or diverse cultural context.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Learning & Development (e.g., CPLP, ATD certifications).
  • Experience with performance management systems and their integration with L&D initiatives.
  • Knowledge of digital learning trends, AI in learning, and gamification techniques.
  • Experience in the professional services or consulting industry.
