Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using various online databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, Quicklaw) and traditional library resources to locate relevant statutes, case law, regulations, articles, and other legal materials.
  • Summarize legal documents, case precedents, and legislative updates in a clear, concise, and accurate manner for review by lawyers and paralegals.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including memos, briefs, and reports, by gathering and organizing supporting research and documentation.
  • Maintain and update internal legal databases, document management systems, and physical files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Verify citations and factual information within legal documents to ensure precision and compliance with legal standards.
  • Monitor legal developments and current events relevant to ongoing cases and areas of practice, providing timely updates to the team.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed, including photocopying, scanning, filing, and scheduling to support the legal team's operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with lawyers, paralegals, and other team members to understand research requirements and deliver results efficiently.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and ethical guidelines inherent in legal practice.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement in research and document management.
