Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Employee Relations Specialist to join our fully remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive, productive, and legally compliant work environment across our distributed workforce. You will serve as a trusted advisor, mediator, and problem-solver, addressing a wide array of employee relations issues, from conflict resolution and disciplinary actions to policy interpretation and performance management support. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and misconduct, documenting findings and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees on a wide range of employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Develop, implement, and interpret HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and best practices across various jurisdictions.
  • Facilitate mediation sessions and difficult conversations, striving for mutually agreeable outcomes while maintaining objectivity and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel when necessary to address complex or high-risk employee relations matters.
  • Analyze employee relations trends and metrics to identify root causes, develop proactive solutions, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Deliver training and workshops to managers and employees on topics such as conflict resolution, harassment prevention, and performance management.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all employee relations cases and actions.
  • Stay current with changes in employment legislation and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of dedicated experience in an Employee Relations or HR Generalist role with a strong ER focus.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian employment law, including Human Rights legislation and Labour Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting impartial workplace investigations from intake to resolution.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience working in a fully remote or distributed team environment.
  • Familiarity with cross-provincial employment legislation in Canada.
  • Experience developing and delivering HR-related training programs.
