The Camera Operations Assistant role at Career.zycto is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring and dedicated individual passionate about visual production and cinematography. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, operation, and strike of camera, lighting, and grip equipment on various sets.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of all camera department gear, ensuring optimal working condition.
- Monitor and manage camera batteries, media cards, and other essential accessories throughout shoots.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Photography and Camera Operator to fulfill on-set requests and maintain efficient workflows.
- Support in cable management, flagging, and general set safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with camera equipment as they arise.
- Assist with transporting equipment to and from various shoot locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all camera department assets.
- Adhere strictly to production schedules and health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Fundamental knowledge of camera equipment, lenses, and accessories (e.g., DSLRs, Mirrorless, Cinema Cameras).
- Basic understanding of lighting principles and grip equipment.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by production schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant diploma or degree in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related field.
- Previous experience (internship or volunteer) on film sets or video productions.
- Familiarity with common video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
