Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced geologists and technicians in conducting various field investigations and sampling programs.
- Learn and apply proper techniques for collecting soil, rock, water, and air samples according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Document field observations accurately, including geological features, sample locations, and environmental conditions.
- Operate and maintain field equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Transport samples to designated laboratories, ensuring proper preservation and chain of custody documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Assist with data entry, report preparation, and quality control checks for field data.
- Participate in site reconnaissance and prepare for field expeditions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the field and office.
- Proactively seek learning opportunities and demonstrate a strong willingness to develop new skills.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in geology, environmental science, or related field is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical work in various outdoor weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Punctual, reliable, and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to travel locally within the Montreal area and potentially to surrounding regions for projects.
Preferred Qualifications
