Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lawyer/Legal Practitioner to join our dynamic and respected legal team in Harare. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel to a diverse range of clients.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and opinions.
- Represent clients effectively in court, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution forums.
- Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring timely and effective progress.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and judicial officers professionally and ethically.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments, statutes, and regulations.
- Mentor junior legal professionals and contribute to the firm's knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Participate in business development activities and client relationship management.
- Ensure strict compliance with all professional and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Admitted Legal Practitioner in Zimbabwe with a valid Practicing Certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years post-admission experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong understanding of Zimbabwean law, including civil procedure, commercial law, and corporate governance.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Superior verbal and written communication and advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree or equivalent advanced legal qualification.
- Specialization or proven expertise in areas such as corporate finance, environmental law, or intellectual property.
