Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Remote Legal Support Partner to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role requires a highly organised, self-motivated, and tech-savvy individual who can thrive in a virtual environment while seamlessly integrating with our existing legal professionals. As a Remote Legal Support Partner, you will be instrumental in supporting our solicitors and partners across various practice areas, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of legal services. You will manage complex administrative tasks, conduct research, prepare legal documents, and act as a crucial link in our operational framework. While this is a remote position, occasional travel to our Chelmsford office for team meetings or specific projects may be required. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to assigned solicitors and partners, managing caseloads effectively in a remote setting.
  • Draft, review, and proofread a variety of legal documents, correspondence, and reports with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources, compiling findings into clear, concise summaries.
  • Manage and organise digital case files, ensuring all documentation is accurately filed and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate and schedule virtual meetings, client consultations, and court appearances, including managing diaries and travel arrangements (if required).
  • Liaise with clients, external counsel, court officials, and other stakeholders with professionalism and discretion.
  • Process invoices, expenses, and manage billing procedures in conjunction with the finance department.
  • Assist with compliance procedures and maintain strict adherence to legal and company policies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of remote working practices and technology utilisation within the firm.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal support role within a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a remote or hybrid work environment.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines independently.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal case management software.
  • Strong legal research skills and familiarity with legal databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for grammar and punctuation.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a virtual team.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant legal secretarial or paralegal qualification (e.g., CILEx, NALP).
  • Experience with specific practice areas such as Commercial Law, Private Client, or Property Law.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools and video conferencing platforms beyond basic usage.
  • A proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and implementing best practices in a remote setting.
