Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and energetic Stagehand – Theatre & Concert Support to join our vibrant team, servicing an array of live events across Edge Hill, Liverpool. This full-time role offers an incredible opportunity to be at the heart of the action, contributing directly to the success of diverse productions ranging from intimate theatrical performances to large-scale concert extravaganzas and corporate events.
As a Stagehand, you will be an indispensable part of a highly skilled crew, responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and strike of all technical elements that bring a show to life. Your day-to-day will be anything but routine, encompassing everything from rigging and de-rigging complex stage sets, assisting with the installation and maintenance of lighting and sound equipment, to managing props and scenic elements. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and positioning of stage equipment, props, and scenic elements.
- Participate in the setup and strike of lighting, sound, video, and rigging systems for various productions.
- Operate follow spots, assist with scene changes, and manage props during live performances as required.
- Perform general maintenance and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and venue procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the production team, including lighting designers, sound engineers, and stage managers.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe backstage environment at all times.
- Provide support for artist requests and production needs throughout rehearsals and performances.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Stagehand or in a similar live event production role.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in varied conditions.
- Basic understanding of stage terminology, equipment, and production processes.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid).
