Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network security systems and traffic for unusual or suspicious activity, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of security alerts and logs from various sources (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs) to determine true positives and scope of incidents.
  • Perform incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot network security devices and software, such as firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation related to network security operations and incident response.
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing efforts, recommending and implementing remediation strategies.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, ensuring our defenses are continually evolving.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, IT operations, and other security teams to enhance overall security posture and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in network security operations, incident response, or a related cybersecurity role.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
  • Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), EDR, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Experience with firewall management (e.g., Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA) and network access control (NAC) solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles and practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Solid knowledge of common attack vectors, security exploits, and remediation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, or CCNA Security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced security certifications like CISSP, GIAC (GCIH, GCIA, GSEC).
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOX).
  • Prior experience in a large-scale enterprise environment or a global organization.
