Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and informative tours for individuals and groups across various locations in Mauritius, including historical sites, natural parks, cultural villages, and coastal areas.
- Provide accurate, compelling, and up-to-date commentary on Mauritius's history, culture, environment, and local way of life.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants throughout the duration of the tour, adhering strictly to company and national safety protocols.
- Manage tour logistics, including scheduling, transportation coordination, and adherence to planned itineraries, while remaining flexible to adapt to changes.
- Interact positively with guests, answer questions, address concerns, and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Assist with basic first aid when necessary and be prepared to handle minor emergencies effectively.
- Promote sustainable tourism practices and encourage guests to respect local customs and environments.
- Provide feedback on tour routes, activities, and guest preferences to assist in the continuous improvement of our offerings.

Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills in English and French
- Extensive knowledge of Mauritian history, culture, geography, and ecology
- Proven ability to lead groups and manage diverse personalities
- Strong problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making under pressure
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Exceptional customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness suitable for leading walking tours, hikes, and outdoor activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Environmental Studies, or a related field
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., German, Mandarin, Creole, Hindi)
- Previous experience as a certified tour guide or in a similar customer-facing role in the tourism industry
- Knowledge of local adventure sports (e.g., hiking, snorkeling, kayaking) and associated safety practices
- Valid Mauritian driving license with experience driving passenger vehicles
