Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory control.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Optimize delivery routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including inventory levels, shipment details, and delivery confirmations.
  • Liaise effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve any logistics-related issues promptly.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse and during delivery.
  • Manage and reconcile inventory discrepancies, performing regular stock counts and audits.
  • Prepare comprehensive logistics reports and presentations for management.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures for goods received and dispatched.
  • Support the negotiation of favorable terms with freight forwarders and carriers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 30 months) in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid Jamaican driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of local transportation regulations and customs procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., CSCP, CLTD).
  • Experience with cold chain logistics and perishable goods management.
  • Familiarity with inventory management techniques like FIFO and JIT.
