Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct emotional support and practical assistance to refugees and asylum seekers.
- Assist residents with navigating administrative processes, including asylum applications, registration, and access to healthcare.
- Facilitate integration efforts by connecting residents with language courses, educational opportunities, and employment services.
- Organize and participate in community-building activities, workshops, and recreational programs within the refuge.
- Act as a liaison between residents and external agencies, advocating for their rights and needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of resident interactions and support plans.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychologists, and legal advisors.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Stay informed about current legislation, policies, and best practices related to refugee support and integration in Germany.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Pedagogy, Humanitarian Aid, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in social work, refugee support, or crisis intervention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Fluency in German (C1 level or higher) and English (B2 level or higher).
